Campus
Being
at one with nature has a huge and positive impact on the learning
process. It positively affects the quality of relationships, the way
that people conduct and behave with sensitivity to each other and it
helps those youngsters who are easily distracted in conventional
classrooms to focus much more easily on their tasks.

H.S.S. Yendayar is giving its students a natural, holistic and
students centered education in one of the most amazing environments
in central Kerala. We are adopting a green campus initiative. At a
time when vegetable prices are soaring and cultivable land is being
converted for commercial and residential purposes, our school is
encouraging students to grow vegetables on campus as well as at their
homes. Seeds are distributed to students and they are advised to
plant trees and vegetables at home and distribute the rest among
their neighbours.
A
well kept garden is the boast and pride of our campus. Everyday
students take turn to water the plants and level to the garden.
Rain
water harvesting is done effectively and the water is used for
irrigation throughout the whole year. The food waste is collected and
used to make wormy compost. The manure produced through wormy
composting is used in the school garden.
Through
all these measures, we are able to keep and maintain an eco-friendly green
campus.
